Saco River Recreational Council holds annual spring meeting

The Saco River Recreational Council kicked off its 25th anniversary year with a meeting that was well-attended by many of the groups working to protect and preserve the Saco and its watershed. Representatives were on hand from river outfitters and livery services, land preservation groups, several branches of local and regional law enforcement, campgrounds and recreational areas, and our own association president Gene Bergoffen. Topics discussed included coordination of efforts among the organizations, sources of grant monies that can be used to support various programs benefitting the watershed, and further education and outreach efforts.
